User Guide for autoColor
Function: The autoColor app can automatically colorize grayscale images, and then manually adjust the hue, saturation, and value (brightness) of the colorized image. Finally, the colorized image can be saved.
The software usage instructions are as follows:
(1) Original image: Click "Select image" button to select an original image from the computer to load, and you can also switch between the previous or next image in the folder where the image is located. The supported image formats include: *. jpg *. png *. jpg *. bmp *. tif *. tif *. webp *. jfif.
(2) Gray image: Click "Gray" button to display the image in grayscale.
(3) Image colorization: Click "Colorize" button to automatically colorize image. Step 3 can be performed directly without going through the second step "Gray image".
(4) Color adjustment: Manually adjust the H, S, and V of the automatically colorized image by dragging the vertical slider.
(5) Save Image: Click "Save" button to export the colorized image and select a local folder to save. Images automatically colorized in Step 3 or manually adjusted in Step 4 can be saved.
This app is good at colorizing natural landscape images. The pic folder contains over 1000 natural landscape data images downloaded from the internet. If the user does not need these pictures, they can delete the pic folder.
Introduction to HSV:
The HSV color model is a color space based on human perception, which consists of three parameters: hue (H), saturation (S), and value (V) (brightness). By adjusting the values of H, S, and V, the color tone, saturation, brightness, and other information of an image can be changed.
Hue (H) is a fundamental attribute of color that determines the types of colors, such as red, green, blue, etc. In the HSV color model, hue is an angular value ranging from 0 ° to 360 °, where 0 ° represents red, 120 ° represents green, and 240 ° represents blue. The complementary colors of hue differ by 180 degrees.
Saturation (S) represents the purity or vividness of a color. The range of saturation values is from 0 to 1, where 0 indicates that the color has degraded to gray and 1 indicates the purest color.
Value (V) represents the brightness level of a color. In the HSV model, the brightness range is also from 0 to 1, where 0 represents black and 1 represents the brightest.
The characteristic of the HSV color model is that it decomposes color information into three independent dimensions, which makes it more in line with human perception of color than the RGB model. For example, adjusting saturation can change the vividness of a color without affecting its hue and brightness; Adjusting brightness can change the brightness of a color without affecting its hue and saturation. This model is particularly suitable for color adjustment operations in image processing, as it is closer to the human visual system's perception of color.

功能:autoColor应用软件可以对灰度图像自动着色,然后可以对着色后的图片手动调节色相、饱和度和明暗度(亮度)等信息,最后可以保存着色后的图像。
软件使用说明如下:
(1)原始图像(Original image):点击"选择图像(Select image)"按钮,从电脑中选择一张原始图像加载,还可以在图像所在文件夹中切换上一张(previous)或者下一张(Next)。支持的图像格式包括:*.jpg *.png *.jpeg *.bmp *.tif *.tiff *.webp *.jfif。

(3)图像着色(Image colorization):点击"选择图像(Select image)"按钮,对图像自动着色。不经过第2步灰度图像也可以直接进行第3步。
(4)颜色调整(Color adjustment):拖拽垂直滑动条,手动调整自动着色后图像的H、S和V。
(5)保存图像:点击"保存(Save)"按钮,导出着色后的图像并选择本地文件夹保存。对于第3步自动着色的图像或第4步手动调整的图像都可以保存。
本应用软件擅长对自然风景类图片着色。pic文件夹中有从网上下载的1000多张自然风景类的数据图片。若使用者不需要这些图片,可以删除pic文件夹。
