Product Description
Will this project survive another computer?
MervanIQ scans a folder before you copy it, zip it, or hand it off — and flags file and folder names that are perfectly valid where they are, but incompatible with a different operating system, a different filesystem, or legacy Windows tooling.
A project can be entirely correct on the machine that created it and still contain names another filesystem can't represent safely: a reserved device name, two files that differ only by case, an accented filename that's actually two different byte sequences underneath. MervanIQ catches those before the handoff, not after.
WHAT MERVANIQ CHECKS
Windows reserved device names (CON, AUX, PRN, NUL, COM1-9, LPT1-9), even mid-path and even with an extension attached. Names that differ only by case, which collide on a case-insensitive target such as standard Windows or default macOS. Unicode look-alikes — filenames that look identical but are encoded differently underneath. Forbidden characters and names that are too long for a single file or folder. Windows path-length limits, using the actual MAX_PATH arithmetic. Trailing spaces, trailing dots, symlinks, and junctions.
THE ONE RULE MERVANIQ WON'T BREAK
MervanIQ never renames, moves, or modifies your files. A filesystem-safe rename isn't automatically a project-safe one — MervanIQ can't know whether your source code, build scripts, or asset references still point at the old name. Where a deterministic, filesystem-safe rename exists, it proposes one; anything it can't safely resolve on its own is listed separately, so nothing is silently skipped. You review the plan. You make the change.
NOW IN YOUR LANGUAGE
MervanIQ is available in English, Spanish, Japanese, German, French, Portuguese (Brazil), Korean, and Italian. It follows your Windows language automatically, or you can choose a language in Settings. Findings and saved reports use the same language.
WHO IT'S FOR
Developers and teams who copy projects between machines, package folders for handoff, or maintain a codebase that has to build cleanly on more than one operating system.
