Product Description
NOTE: You must have the MasterCook 20 Windows product or higher installed on your PC to use this app.

Export multiple MasterCook cookbooks without loading them into MasterCook.

Are you migrating from MasterCook to another recipe program—Cook’n, for example? Frustrated that MasterCook lets you export only one cookbook at a time, and only after you’ve loaded each one into the program?

That’s where this app comes in. Simply select one or more cookbook directories on your PC, choose an output directory, and start the export. The app will scan all selected folders (and optionally their subfolders) for MasterCook cookbook files, create MZ2 files for each one, and save them to your chosen output location.

If a cookbook has a cover image, this app will also export it as a .jpg file.

MasterCook was acquired by DVO Enterprises, the developer of Cook'n in November, 2025. This app is especially helpful for MasterCook users who are migrating their cookbooks to Cook'n.

LIMITATIONS:

This app accesses the data in MasterCook cookbooks using an application programming interface (API) which ships with the MasterCook product. This API has some limitations:

1. No linked recipe ingredients. Recipe ingredients are marked as regular ingredients. Cook'n interprets these the same way.

2. No nutrition data. The API doesn’t export nutrition information. Importing programs such as Cook’n calculate their own nutrition data and ignore values from other programs.

3. The API exports titles and subtitles as regular ingredients. Cook’n also imports them as standard ingredients, so even if exported correctly, they would not be treated differently.

4. Some, usually older, cookbooks have uninterpretable recipes. See the User Guide for details.
