A document carries more than what is printed on it. The name of whoever wrote it, the firm that licensed the template, the tracked changes somebody thought were accepted, the watermark that is still recoverable, the coordinates of the photograph you pasted in. HearthDocClean opens a document, shows you a full report of everything it found, and removes only what you tick. The original file is never changed. The clean copy is scanned again afterwards, so you can see what is left rather than take our word for it. The report lists what was checked and came back clean as well as what was found, so you can tell "there is nothing here" from "this was never looked at". It only lists checks that apply: a photograph is not reported as free of macros. An author usually needs to become the firm's name rather than nothing. A logo needs to become a different logo. Hidden text is worth reading before deleting. The only feature that uses the internet is the optional trusted timestamp on a signature, and what is sent is a hash of the signature, never the document.
