After the trial, a one-time Microsoft Store purchase is required to continue using the app. BUILT FOR HUGE FILES On our test machine, a real 1 GB log file containing approximately 14.7 million lines was opened and fully indexed in about 1.46 seconds, and jumping to the end of that file took about 1.3 milliseconds. (Measured on an Intel Core i7-13650HX with 32 GB RAM and an NVMe SSD, with the file already in the operating system cache. Your results will depend on your hardware, your storage and the shape of your log.) The file is never loaded into memory. DreamFast Log Viewer builds a compact index of where each line begins, then reads only the lines that are on your screen. You can start reading before indexing has finished, and cancel indexing at any time. LIVE TAIL THAT BEHAVES Follow a file the way tail -f does. Pause without losing your place and watch a counter of how many new lines are waiting. If the log is rotated, truncated or briefly disappears, the app notices, handles it and reconnects on its own. Following an idle file uses file-system notifications rather than busy polling. SEARCH AND FILTERS THAT SCALE Plain text, whole-word, case-sensitive or regular-expression search, across one file or every file you have open. Long searches run in the background with a cancel button and a result list. Build filters from conditions such as "level is Error or worse", "message contains database", "exclude health checks" or "after 14:00" — combined with AND/OR, nested groups and exclude rules, with a live preview of how many lines match. IT UNDERSTANDS YOUR LOGS Built-in parsers for NLog, Serilog, log4net, Apache and Nginx access logs, PHP error logs, WordPress debug.log, Node.js, JSON and JSONL, plus a generic timestamped format — detected automatically when you open a file. You can also write your own parser with a regular expression and a live test preview. Levels from Trace to Fatal are colour-coded and also labelled and icon-marked, so they stay readable for people who do not distinguish colours easily. MERGE DISTRIBUTED LOGS Three services on three machines with three slightly different clocks? Merge their logs into one chronological view, apply a per-file time offset, and read the incident as it actually happened. Then export the result. WORDPRESS MODE Point it at wp-content/debug.log. PHP warnings, notices and fatal errors are recognised on sight, the offending plugin or theme path is right there, repeated messages fold into counts, and the error summary copies to your clipboard for the bug report. SESSIONS, BOOKMARKS AND EXPORT Save your open files, parsers, filters, highlights, bookmarks and layout to a session file and pick up exactly where you left off — tomorrow, or after a crash. They are never written into your log files. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your log files are processed entirely on your PC. Log contents are never uploaded to DreamFast Apps, and the application never sends log contents or file paths to Microsoft Store.
