Product Description
Your SSH connection can work every day for years—and still be relying on security you would never choose today.
ConsoleDeck is a modern Windows terminal that brings those hidden details into view. Connect to servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and serial console equipment using SSH, Telnet, or Serial, all from one focused application. See more than whether a connection succeeded; review the security properties ConsoleDeck can observe from the active session.
For SSH connections, ConsoleDeck surfaces the negotiated key exchange, host-key algorithm and size, transport encryption, compression, and packet-integrity protection, including MAC or AEAD where applicable. Host-key verification and pinning help make unexpected identity changes visible. Configurable security profiles and Connection Policy Validation compare observable connection details with your selected requirements and clearly identify results as PASS, WARNING, or FAIL.
That older switch in the corner may have been negotiating a legacy SHA-1-based method for years without drawing attention. ConsoleDeck makes that risk visible, explains which control is affected, and shows the device evidence behind the warning. When temporary exceptions are permitted, the app presents the specific change and its risk instead of silently weakening the connection policy.
Built for real infrastructure work:
- Save frequently used connections as searchable bookmarks.
- Work across multiple terminal tabs and rearrange them with smooth drag-and-drop.
- Connect through SSH, Telnet, or local Serial COM ports.
- Review and export detailed session properties without interrupting the terminal.
- Protect saved passwords with Windows Credential Manager rather than storing them in bookmark files.
- Configure session logging, terminal behavior, and Serial keyboard handling.
- Continue supporting necessary legacy equipment with clear warnings about the security tradeoffs.
Whether you are troubleshooting a new server, maintaining a long-lived network appliance, or connecting directly through a console cable, ConsoleDeck helps you stay organized while making observable connection security easier to understand.
ConsoleDeck evaluates only the connection and policy details it can observe. It is not a vulnerability scanner, cannot verify the internal security of a remote device or the surrounding network, and does not provide independent security or compliance certification.
