Product Description
Most of us type on a keyboard that feels fine and sounds like nothing. Clacky fixes the second half.
Press a key and hear a real mechanical switch — recorded from actual boards, not synthesised. It works in every application, from your editor to your browser to the search box in the Start menu, because it listens to the keyboard itself rather than to any one app.
44 sound packs, all included
Clicky, tactile and linear switches, each with its own weight and pitch. The colours everyone knows — blue, brown, red, black and silver. Whole keyboards sampled key by key. And for the days when you want something else entirely: a typewriter, a grand piano, a harp, a marimba, water drops, birds, a cat.
Nothing is locked behind an extra purchase and nothing is downloaded later. Every pack ships inside the app.
Built to sound right, not just to make noise
Pitch variation keeps repeated keys from sounding identical, so holding a key down does not turn into a machine gun. Release sounds play when you let go, the way a real switch does. Spatial audio places each key where it actually sits on the board, so the left hand sounds left and the right hand sounds right — worth turning on if you are wearing headphones.
Two latency modes: shared, which plays nicely with everything else on your machine, and low latency, which takes the audio device for itself when you want the sound to land the same instant your finger does.
Quiet where it should be
Mute the modifier keys so Ctrl, Shift, Alt and Windows stay silent. Add mouse clicks and scrolling if you want them. Name the apps that should stay quiet — or the only apps that should make sound — and Clacky follows the window you are actually working in.
Stays out of the way
Lives in the notification area, starts with Windows if you ask it to, and closes to the tray rather than quitting. Light and dark themes, and twelve languages: English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Arabic.
Your typing stays yours
Clacky reads key events to decide which sound to play and does nothing else with them. No keystrokes are stored, no text is reconstructed, and nothing is sent anywhere — the app has no network features at all.
Try it first
Clacky is free for seven days with everything unlocked. After that it is a single purchase, once, for the app and every pack in it.
