Product Description
BackupPaper saves one text conversation from an iPhone backup on your Windows PC as a PDF or CSV file. It reads backups made by iTunes or Apple Devices, including encrypted backups, and nothing is uploaded.
Try every feature free for 15 days, then buy once in the Microsoft Store. There is no subscription and no account.
WHY PEOPLE USE IT
Someone asked for the texts, an old phone is gone, or an old backup is about to be deleted. The conversation you need is inside the iPhone backup on your PC, but Windows cannot open it. BackupPaper opens the backup, lists every conversation, and writes the one you pick to a new file you can keep, print or send.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Choose the backup folder. iTunes and Apple Devices keep each backup in a folder under MobileSync\Backup in your user profile.
2. If the backup is encrypted, type the password you set. It is used on this PC only and is not saved.
3. Pick a conversation and read it: time, sender, text, reactions, replies and attachment names.
4. Choose Export PDF or Export CSV and name the new file.
5. Compare the SHA-256 shown for the file with the result of the Windows certutil command, now or later.
WHAT YOU GET
- A PDF on US Letter pages, with a header naming the device, participants, service and date range, and page numbers.
- A CSV in UTF-8 with one row for each message and each reaction, with UTC and local times.
- iMessage and SMS conversations, including group conversations.
- Contact names when the backup includes the address book.
YOUR BACKUP STAYS AS IT IS
BackupPaper opens the backup folder read-only and never changes it. Every export is a new file that you name, and the app refuses to save inside the backup folder. It makes no network connections and has no account or iCloud sign-in. The iPhone does not need to be connected.
GOOD TO KNOW
- Apple says a backup made on a computer leaves out iMessages and texts that already sync to iCloud. If Messages in iCloud is on, the backup may hold few or no conversations. Use the free trial to see what your backup holds.
- It reads the Messages app only: iMessage and SMS, not WhatsApp or other chat apps.
- Attachments are listed by name. Photos and videos are not placed in the PDF.
- One conversation per export.
- An encrypted backup needs its password. BackupPaper cannot recover or bypass a password.
- It shows the messages the backup holds and does not recover deleted messages.
- Arabic and Indic scripts print in the PDF as separate letters. The CSV keeps the text exactly.
- The app is in English and runs on Windows 10 version 2004 or later, and Windows 11.
- BackupPaper makes no claim about how a court or anyone else will treat an export, and it is not legal advice.
